THE CORONATION OF KING CHARLES III
This special 100-page collector’s edition souvenir issue celebrates the Coronation of King Charles III, which took place on the 6th of May 2023 at Westminster Abbey in London.
King Charles III, the 62nd British monarch to serve over the past 1,200 years, ascended to the throne on the 8th of September, 2022, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. At age 73, he was officially proclaimed king two days later at a ceremony at St James’s Palace, making him the oldest person to assume the title.
On the 6th of May King Charles III and Queen Camilla were crowned at Westminster Abbey in a lavish Coronation ceremony not seen in Britain since 1953.
Lionel Richie and Paloma Faith were among the performers at the following day’s star-studded musical event staged on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle’s grounds as Prince William paid tribute to his father.
The Prince and Princess of Wales concluded the Coronation weekend celebrations by volunteering for The Big Help Out – and they brought the children along too…
