The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry to Present
The Diana Award’s Inaugural Legacy Award
St James’s Palace, London
Thursday 18th May, 2017
The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry will present a new award, on behalf of the Diana Award, which honours the legacy of their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. The ceremony will be held at St James’s Palace, where twenty exceptional young people from across the world will be recognised for their qualities of kindness, compassion and service.
The Diana Award was set up in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, and her belief that young people have the power to change the world. The charity, which runs anti-bullying and mentoring programmes, is unique as it also rewards young people who carry out inspiring work without expectation of reward. Each year thousands of young people are nominated by individuals and their communities to highlight these selfless acts.
Those awarded will have demonstrated, in the most exceptional way, qualities of kindness, compassion and service, and Their Royal Highnesses will meet with the winners to hear each of their stories.
As well as receiving The Legacy Award, recipients will have access to a unique development programme which will provide them with the opportunity to enhance their skills in four key areas; leadership, community development, social entrepreneurship and technology for good.
