THE PRINCE OF WALES WILL JOIN EARTHSHOT FINALISTS AT FIRST FELLOWSHIP RETREAT

Cumberland Lodge, Windsor Great Park

Thursday 26th January 2023

Prince William will meet The Earthshot Prize 2022 finalists in-person for the first time as he joins them at the Earthshot Prize Fellowship Retreat. The event is a vital part of the new Earthshot Prize Fellowship Programme, a unique, 9-month accelerator designed to help Earthshot Prize finalists grow their solutions by unlocking new routes to market, finance, and major partnerships.

During the inaugural week-long retreat, finalists will meet, learn and collaborate with each other and also hear from major leaders and thinkers who are set to share their own insight and wisdom that can be applied to the finalists ongoing efforts to accelerating and scale their game-changing solutions. There will also be opportunity to connect with advisors, market access facilitators, potential funders and champions who can help the finalists to immediately scale up.

Throughout the week a wider group of individuals and organisations, including Christiana Figueres, former UN Climate Chief and Earthshot Prize Board Chair and Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim, environmental activist, geographer and Earthshot Prize Council Member, will be standing by to lean in and support the Finalists to make the most of these growth opportunities.

His Royal Highness, Founder and President of The Earthshot Prize, will join the retreat on Thursday afternoon at Cumberland Lodge in Windsor. He will meet the brilliant innovators that make up the Earthshot Class of 2022 and hear about their exciting plans for 2023 and beyond. His Royal Highness will then drop in to two smaller, focused conversations to hear about the opportunities The Earthshot Prize has afforded the finalists so far and what more it can do to break down barriers and accelerate their ambitious plans for the future.

Scaling and accelerating all finalists’ solutions, not only those that receive the award of £1 million, is a key tenet of The Earthshot Prize philosophy and the new 9-month Fellowship programme will help them leap ahead in their scale and impact via strategic support and ambitious collaborations with The Earthshot Prize Global Alliance of 45 businesses, NGOs and philanthropists.
