THE DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE TO ATTEND THE SKILLFORCE AND THE CHILDREN’S TRUST GALA
The Roundhouse, London
Monday 6th November, 2017
The Duke of Cambridge, Royal Patron of SkillForce, will attend the charity’s annual Gala, which will be jointly hosted by The Children’s Trust in London. The evening, which will have a circus theme, will also celebrate the start of a new partnership between the charities, which have shared aims and ambitions to improve the lives and life chances of young people.
SkillForce, of which The Duke has been Patron since 2009, is a national education charity that works with schools to transform lives using the skills and experience of ex-Service veterans. The charity supports children and young people in 220 primary and secondary schools across England, Scotland and Wales preparing them for their next steps in education, work and life.
Earlier this year His Royal Highness launched the charity’s award programme, The Prince William Award, which aims to help young children between the ages of six and 14 to develop good character, confidence and resilience.
The Children’s Trust, which is co-hosting the Gala, is a UK charity for children with brain injuries. It provides young people and their families with specialist rehabilitation, education and community services.
The Duke will attend a reception prior to the Gala beginning, where he will meet individuals involved with both charities, including ambassadors and the Gala’s host David Walliams. The evening will begin with a circus themed performance, before The Duke will give a short speech.
