The Prince of Wales Attends G20 Summit Reception and Dinner

ROME 

 Saturday 30th – Sunday 31st October 2021 

SATURDAY 30TH OCTOBER 

The Prince of Wales will attend a Reception and Dinner hosted by President Sergio Mattarella at The Quirinale Palace.

His Royal Highness will be greeted by President Sergio Mattarella and his daughter, Laura Mattarella and Prime Minister Mario Draghi and his wife, Maria Serena Cappello. 

His Royal Highness will join Leaders for an official photograph before attending the private reception and dinner. 

His Royal Highness last visited The Quirinale Palace, with The Duchess of Cornwall during a visit to Rome in April 2017. 

His Royal Highness met Prime Minister, Mr. Mario Draghi, in Cornwall earlier this year. 

The Prince of Wales privately visited Rome before attending the Canonisation of Cardinal John Henry Newman at the Vatican in October 2019. 

SUNDAY 31ST OCTOBER 

The Prince of Wales will attend the G20 Summit at La Nuvola conference centre.

The Prince will be greeted by Prime Minister Draghi. The Prince of Wales and The Prime Minister will pause briefly for an official photograph before entering the conference centre. 

The session will be opened by Prime Minister Draghi. His Royal Highness will then deliver a speech followed by Mr Brian Moynihan as SMI Co-Chair and Mr Brunello Cucinelli, Italian CEO. 

The speech will discuss His Royal Highness’ many years of work highlighting the growing environmental crisis as a result of climate change. The Prince is expected to discuss shared ambitions around sustainability and the advancements of the Fashion Industry. 

Earlier this month, His Royal Highness (virtually) spoke at the fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention of Biological Diversity (COP15) being held in Kunming, China.
