THE PRINCE OF WALES ATTENDS THE G20

ROME

Sunday 31st October 2021

His Royal Highness will attend the launch of SMI Fashion Taskforce’s Digital ID.

The POW will join a reception of CEOs from the Fashion Taskforce in the garden of the British Ambassador’s Residence.

Taskforce Chair Federico Marchetti will host The Prince and guide him through a demonstration of the digital ID via a selection of products of the brands showcased at the event.

SMI Fashion Taskforce representatives including Brunello Cucinelli of Brunello Cucinelli, Thierry Andretta of Mulberry and Andrea Camerana of ARMANI will be in attendance.

The Digital ID will act as virtual certificate and will inform customers of the sustainability credentials of their purchases and facilitate the delivery of circularity at scale – telling its story from manufacture through use, resale, reuse and recycling.

The Prince of Wales launched the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) alongside a 10-point action plan at Davos in January 2020.

The SMI’s Terra Carta, was launched by The Prince in January 2021 and puts Nature, People and Planet at the heart of the private sector and provides a roadmap towards a sustainable future.
