THE PRINCE OF WALES WILL ATTEND THE TUSK AWARDS

London

Monday 27th November 2023

The Prince of Wales will honour the achievements of leading African conservationists by attending the annual Tusk Conservation Awards on Monday 27th November 2023. His Royal Highness is Royal Patron of Tusk and helped to launch the awards in 2013.

The awards aim to shine a spotlight on the stories of conservation leaders and wildlife rangers across Africa, with many previous winners having since risen to the top of their fields, scaling their work and amplifying conservation impact across the continent. Since the inaugural event in 2013, the awards have now recognised 55 conservation leaders from 20 countries and Tusk continues to capitalise on the extraordinary knowledge and experience of the Alumni to support the wider Tusk portfolio.

On arrival to the awards, His Royal Highness will meet with key supporters of Tusk and the award winners. The Prince will then present three awards: the Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa, The Tusk Award for Conservation in Africa and the Tusk Wildlife Ranger Award. Each winner will receive a trophy and significant grant funding to continue their work. His Royal Highness will then give a short speech.

As Royal Patron of Tusk, the Prince has long been a supporter of the charity’s efforts and last year for the tenth anniversary attended a symposium bringing together the 2022 award winners, alumni from previous awards and conservation experts.
