THE QUEEN WILL OPEN THE NEW HEADQUARTERS OF SCHRODERS PLC, LONDON

Her Majesty The Queen will open the new Headquarters of Schroders plc, 1 London Wall Place, on Wednesday 7th November, 2018.

During the visit, The Queen will be given a tour of the new building, taking in the operational and client spaces and visiting the investment team floor. Her Majesty will meet board members; some of Schroders’ longest-serving employees; and staff members from across the institution, including the Armed Forces employee group. The Queen will be shown items from the company’s archive demonstrating its 200 year history as well the latest innovative technologies. Her Majesty will unveil a plaque to commemorate the visit and formally open the new headquarters.

Schroders’ modern headquarters provide an innovative and collaborative working environment for over 2,500 employees. The building has sustainability at its core and is on target to achieve a BREEAM excellence rating, the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for buildings. The building’s development is also steeped in history, incorporating a section of London’s Roman wall and the ruins of the tower of the medieval St Alphage’s Church.

Schroders was founded in 1804 when Johann Heinrich Schröder became a partner in J. F. Schröder & Co., the London-based firm founded by his brother, Johann Friedrich Schröder. In its early days, the company focused on the finance of trade between America and Europe but soon developed a global client base. Today, the global investment manager has 4,900 staff across six continents and is responsible for £449.4 billion of assets for its clients.
