The King to Mark 80th Anniversary of Liberation of Auschwitz

THE KING WILL VISIT POLAND AND ATTEND COMMEMORATIONS MARKING THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATION OF AUSCHWITZ

Monday 27th January 2025

The King will attend a commemoration service at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Memorial in Poland, marking 80 years since the liberation of the former German Nazi concentration camp on 27th January 1945. Prior to the commemorations His Majesty will meet members of the local community in Krakow.

His Majesty will also meet the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr Andrzej Duda.

The visit will be the King’s fifth to Poland; more recent visits include in 2008 with Her Majesty The Queen when Duchess of Cornwall, and in 2010 as part of a wider European tour to Hungary and the Czech Republic.
