THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES THE PRINCESS ROYAL AND THE DUCHESS OF EDINBURGH WILL HOST A RECEPTION AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE ON BEHALF OF HIS MAJESTY THE KING FOR KOREAN WAR VETERANS

Their Royal Highnesses The Princess Royal and the Duchess of Edinburgh will host a reception on behalf of His Majesty The King for Korean War veterans, to mark the 70th anniversary of the Korean War.
On arrival, the Princess Royal and the Duchess of Edinburgh will meet representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Defence and the Royal British Legion.
Their Royal Highnesses will proceed to the Bow Room where, on behalf of the King, they will host a reception for around 200 Korean War veterans.
At the conclusion of the event, the Princess Royal will deliver a speech on behalf of the King, in which His Majesty will remember what was once called “the Forgotten War” and honour the veterans.
His Majesty The King will conduct an audience with four Korean War Veterans prior to the reception.
Last July (2023), marked 70 years since the armistice was signed, bringing the Korean War to a close.
In November 2023, as part of the Korean state visit, the Duke of Gloucester accompanied the President and First Lady of the Republic of Korea as they laid a wreath at the Korean War Memorial in London. The memorial honours the 81,000 individuals who served in the war.
