THE KING WILL HOST A RECEPTION TO CELEBRATE MUSIC IN COMMUNITIES AT WINDSOR CASTLE

His Majesty The King, with Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, will host a reception to recognise those involved in community music across the UK, with a focus on grassroots groups and projects.

At Windsor Castle, the King with the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, will host 350 guests, including leaders of community music groups and music-related projects, many of whom are volunteers. The evening will celebrate the vital role music plays in strengthening communities and the important work of those developing future musical leaders, such as choir and band directors, by providing the next generation with knowledge and experience.

His Majesty and Their Royal Highnesses will join guests for a performance compèred by BBC Radio 3 presenter Katie Derham in the Waterloo Chamber.

Musicians from the Royal College of Music, the Sing for Freedom Choir and artist YolanDa Brown will perform. London Gay Men’s Chorus will sing from the balcony as guests arrive and take their seats.

After the performance, the royal party will meet performers and other guests during a reception in St. George’s Hall. Throughout the reception, the Songs for Ukraine Chorus will sing from the balcony and the London Vegetable Orchestra will circulate and perform for guests.
